Lakeside Grill:
Since April 2022, I have been part of the team at Lakeside Grill, a restaurant located in Mayfair Lakes Country Club. Previously mentioned, I initially started as a hostess, where I gained experience in guest relations, reservations, and front-of-house operations. Over time, I have taken on greater responsibilities, demonstrating my ability to learn quickly and adapt to new challenges. I have been actively involved in training new hires, ensuring they understand restaurant operations, customer service expectations, and team dynamics. This role has strengthened my leadership and mentorship skills, as I guide new employees in developing confidence and efficiency in their roles. Additionally, I have stepped into tasks typically assigned to higher-level positions, such as supporting servers during busy shifts, managing customer requests, and coordinating with the kitchen to maintain smooth service flow. These experiences have allowed me to develop leadership skills, enhance my problem-solving abilities, and gain a deeper understanding of restaurant operations beyond my original role.

Chill-Air:
Through a BCIT-hosted project, I have the opportunity to work on a consulting project with Chill-Air, a HVAC company based in Chilliwack, BC. My team and I will be assisting Chill-Air in implementing a new inventory system to enhance accuracy and efficiency in their operations. The project involves engaging with various departments and stakeholders, conducting a thorough analysis of the organization’s current processes, identifying the root causes of inventory related issues, and designing a new system. This hands-on experience will allow me to apply my skills in problem-solving, communication, and strategic planning while gaining real-world consulting experience. The project is set to continue until Spring 2025.
St. Monica Parish
I had the opportunity to be part of a team working on a project for my local church, St. Monica Parish, where I assisted a teacher and helped organize Christmas events and a fundraiser. My role involved supporting classroom activities, helping with lesson preparations, and ensuring students were engaged. Additionally, I worked with the team to plan and coordinate the holiday events, handling logistics, brainstorming creative ideas, and assisting with fundraising efforts to support the church community. This experience allowed me to collaborate with others, strengthen my organizational and problem-solving skills, and contribute to a meaningful community initiative that brought people together during the holiday season.
